What is SAMESTABIL?
SAMESTABIL is a product belonging to the group of hepatoprotectors with antidepressant activity. It has detoxification, regenerating, antioxidant, antifibrinolytic and neuroprotective properties, has choleretic and cholekinetic effects
Active substance: ademethionine
Ademethionine, or S-adenosyl-L-methionine, is a derivative of amino acid methionine. S-adenosyl-L-methionine (ademethionine) is a natural amino acid that is present in virtually all tissues and body fluids. Ademetionin primarily acts as a coenzyme and a methyl group donor in transmethylation reactions, which is an integral metabolic process in humans and animals. The transfer of methyl groups (transmethylation) is also an integral metabolic process in the construction of a double phospholipid layer in cell membranes and promotes fluidity of membranes. Ademetionine is able to penetrate the blood-brain barrier. The process of transmemethylation with ademetionin is key in the formation of neurotransmitters of the central nervous system, including catecholamines (dopamine, norepinephrine, adrenaline), serotonin, melatonin and histamine
Ademethionine is also a precursor in the formation of physiological sulfurized (thiol) compounds (cysteine, taurine, glutathione, coenzyme A, etc.) in the reactions of transulfurization. Glutathione, a powerful antioxidant in the liver, plays an important role in hepatic detoxification. Ademetionin increases the level of hepatic glutathione in patients with liver damage of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic origin. Folic acid (folates) and vitamin B12are integral components in the processes of metabolism and recovery of ademetionine
- SAMESTABIL normalizes metabolic processes, stabilizes biochemical indicators of blood - bilirubin and aminotransferase
- SAMESTABIL reduces the manifestations of liver failure, positively affects the kinetics of bile, contributes to the elimination of toxins
- SAMESTABIL promotes energy metabolism improvement, reduces fatty liver infiltration
- Patients with fatty liver
- Patients with chronic hepatitis and toxic lesions of liver tissues of various origin (from alcohol, viruses, drugs)
- With chronic acalculous cholecystitis
- Patients with cirrhosis of the liver
- With cholangitis or encephalopathy, including those caused by hepatic insufficiency
- Pregnant women with intracranial cholestasis
- For treatment of abstinence syndrome in complex therapy
- At depression in a combination to other preparations, for preventive maintenance of depressive episodes
Tablets
The usual initial dose is 3 tablets, the total daily dose should not exceed 6 tabletsMaintenance therapy: take orally 3-6 tablets per day. The duration of treatment depends on the disease severity and course of the disease and is determined by doctor individually
Lyophilized powder for injection
The lyophilized powder must be dissolved in a special applied solvent immediately before use. The unused portion of the solution must be discarded. Ademethionine should not be mixed with alkaline solutions or solutions containing calcium ions. Intravenous administration of ademethionine solution must be carried out very slowly. Intravenous or intramuscularly, the recommended dose is 5-12 mg/kg body weight per day for 2 weeks. The initial dose is 500 mg / day, the total daily dose should not exceed 800 mg
Nausea, pain in the gastrointestinal tract, diarrhea, heartburn, indigestion, dryness of the oral mucosa, esophagitis, increased gas formation, bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract, hepatic colic; violation of sleep, confusion, headaches, paresthesia, dizziness; pain and muscle cramps, arthralgia, urinary tract infection; rashes on the skin, sweating, itching and dry skin; reactions at the site of administration of the substance, up to necrosis of the skin; anaphylaxis, laryngeal edema, quincke's edema; asthenia, puffiness, chills, general weakness, hyperthermia, hot flashes
Avoid using in case of known hypersensitivity to one or more components of the product. Genetic defects that affect the methionine cycle and/or cause homocystinuria and/or hyperhomocysteinemia (eg, cystathionine beta-synthase deficiency, a vitamin B12 metabolism defect)
The combination of ademetionine with clomipramine can lead to the development of serotonin syndrome. With special care combine the drug with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, tryptophan, tricyclic antidepressants. Given that the medicine has a certain tonic effect, it can not be taken before going to bed. Therapy should be performed under the supervision of a physician. During the course you need to determine the level of creatinine and urea in the urine, the level of nitrogen in the blood. If the body has a deficiency of folic acid or vitamin B12, then treatment may not be effective enough. It is recommended to take these drugs in parallel. Since the drug may cause dizziness, during the treatment it is impossible to drive or carry out potentially life-threatening activities
Store in a dark place at a temperature not above 25 °C. Keep out of the reach of children!
