What is NEURACTIV?

NEURACTIV is a complex neurostimulator and an effective neuroprotective agent, which ensures the restoration of the effective operation of peripheral nerves

Alpha-lipoic acid
Acetyl-L-carnitine
Coenzyme Q10

Alpha-lipoic acid acts as a scavenger against free radicals and divalent metals at an intracellular level as well as on the plasma membrane. Alpha-Lipoic Acid regenerates endogenous antioxidants (vitamin C and vitamin E). Alpha-Lipoic Acid stimulates the biosynthesis of glutathione thus increasing the expression of the enzyme which limits its synthesis (γ-glutamylcysteine synthetase) and the cellular capitation of cysteine (one of the amino acids forming this tripeptide)

Acetyl-L-Carnitine promotes the synthesis of phospholipids and proteins forming cell membranes. Acetyl-L-Carnitine is involved in the repairing process of cell membranes as it plays a key role in the turnover of phospholipids and triglycerides in nerve cells. Acetyl-L-Carnitine accelerates the maturation of cerebellar neurons and also prevents the loss of substance P in peripheral nerves. Acetyl-L-Carnitine increases the uptake of acetyl coenzyme A and participates in the oxidation of nonesterified fatty acids. Acetyl-L-Carnitine participates in the synthesis and transportation of proteins, activates muscarinic cholinergic M1 receptor in the CNS, induces the up-regulation of metabotropic receptors in type 2 glutamate (mgGlu2) in the neurons of the ganglia of posterior root fibres

Coenzyme Q10 transports hydrogen in the mitochondria in the respiratory chain therefore, it is fundamental for the production of cell energy. Coenzyme Q10 is present in an ubiquitous form in cell membranes (this is why it is known also as ubiquinone) and protects such membranes from the action of free radicals and ensures their integrity, which is fundamental for cell functioning

  • NEURACTIV improves the fluidity and integrity of cell membranes and improves efficiency of neurotransmission processes
  • NEURACTIV increases nerve conduction velocity and intraneural blood flow, develops a pleiotropic action on the metabolism of central and peripheral nerve cells
  • NEURACTIV protects the nervous tissue from the damage caused by free radicals and ensures integrity of nerve cells, which is fundamental for their functioning
  • Hereditary neuropathies (hereditary sensory-motor neuropathies, porphyria etc.)
  • Acquired neuropathies due to:

  • - traumas or compression (lumbosciatica, cervicobrachialgia, entrapment neuropathies, etc.)
    - systemic diseases (chronic kidney disease, hepatopathies, etc.)
    - immune-mediated diseases (Guillain-Barre syndrome, Sjogren syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.)
    - infectious agents (Herpes virus, Cytomegalovirus, etc.)
    - iatrogenic causes (antiblastic, organic drugs, etc.)
    - alcohol and some toxic substances (heavy metals, insecticides, etc.)
    - deficiencies (i.e. vitamins B12, B1 and B6, etc.)
    - diabetes
  • NEURACTIV can be used either as an adjuvant or after a therapy with painkillers and/or anti-inflammatory drugs. Owing to its action in the recovery of cell energy, it is useful also in case of brain neurodegenerative processes and myopathies

The recommended dose is one sachet a day dissolved in a glass of water. Mix for about one minute until you obtain a homogeneous solution. The presence of small spots on the surface is a guarantee of product effectiveness due to its high content in timed release alpha lipoic acid
